A Bit About Me

Originally from Vancouver, B.C., I have lived in Prince George, Regina, Toronto and Peterborough throughout my life.  I have worked with clients from a myriad of backgrounds with many different presenting problems since becoming a Psychotherapist in 1991.  Taking a relational, empowering and client centred approach to all my work, I believe that effective therapy, program development and supervision are achieved by merging each person's uniqueness with an understanding of the context in which people live their lives.

In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I have worked as a clinical supervisor and a consultant for various not for profit community organizations.  I have also provided mental health services for EAP programs, within hospital settings and through other government funded health care services.

            A Bit about my Work

Currently, I provide clinical services for individuals, couples, families and groups of various sizes. In addition, I act as a consultant to various organizations and institutions.

People are often referred to me by their GPs, health care professionals, organizations and other service agencies and providers.  Many of my clients self refer and some agencies contact me directly to contract mental health services.  I welcome direct inquiries as well as referrals and I am available by phone and email to discuss options for service.

A Bit about my Philosophy

My therapeutic style is eclectic.  I incorporate best practice solutions in my approach to all my clinical work.  I focus on personal autonomy, relationship building, positivity, hope and measurable change.  In an open, supportive and non-judgmental way, I work with people to assist them in finding the best solutions to their problems.  I also work to stay current in my profession and to continue to be innovative in the service delivery of mental health options.

In addition to working independently, I engage in collaboration with other health care professionals and organizations to provide optimal therapeutic environments for the people I serve.

I am a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP).  I am insured for all my professional work and I affiliate myself with professional consulting and supervision groups that provide leadership and create forums to discuss standards of care and foster clinical peer support.
